hawkes bay barn 150 transportable home
This beautifully appointed 150m2 family beach house features 3 generous-sized bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a second living area, and separate scullery and laundry.
What was originally, an Elevate Barn 150, is now affectionately termed ‘The Bach’ by it’s owners, Vicki and Scott and their adult sons, and is situated a mere hop and skip away from tranquil Shoal Beach, Hawkes Bay.
A calming coastal colour palette was an inspired choice for hard-working business owners, Vicki and Scott and works beautifully with the relaxed, beach themed décor and surrounds of the home.
Their amazing eye for interior detail and design bought some beautiful and unique features to their home including the T&G panelling on the raking ceilings of the main living room which was echoed throughout the house with T&G feature walls in both bathrooms and bedrooms.
The large open plan living, kitchen and dining area with stacker doors on either side, provides a spacious and seamless indoor/ outdoor flow and the extra-long engineered stone bench provides the perfect hub for gatherings of family and friends.
The home also caters perfectly for the comings and goings of the family and their guests. The second living area features two bedrooms, a separate living area and a dedicated bathroom at one end of the house. This separate breakout area and the spacious master bedroom suite at the opposite end of the house provides the perfect set up, allowing all occupants of the house their own space when required.
What our clients had to say...
Vicki Meech, provide some further insight into their transportable home journey...
Tell us about your home and who lives in it.
This our family Bach.
Why did you choose to purchase a transportable home over an on-site built home?
Given our project was one hour from the nearest city centre, we had found trying to find tradesmen for an onsite build incredibly difficult and expensive. Also, to manage the project from an hour away was going to be a challenge. Choosing a relocatable just made sense, a fixed price and only a handful of tradesmen needed at the end.
Why did you end up choosing an Elevate Home?
We were attracted to Elevate for the quality of their builds and the architectural detail. They stood out from the crowd!
How did you find the building process?
From start to finish the building process was straight forward and stress free. Everyone who works at Elevate is passionate about their product and were genuinely lovely people to deal with. They say what they are going to do and do it! We live 4 hours away from Cambridge however we were kept regularly updated with photos and emails. We were able to just get on with life and leave our build in Elevates' capable hands. It was an incredibly enjoyable process.
What part of the house are you most happy with?
Impossible to say we love all of it. It works incredibly well with the open plan living and lovely big sliders, but then our snug is well used when we want to hunker down and watch Netflix.
What is your advice for someone interested, but not too sure, about purchasing a transportable home?
Go for it!
