Whangapoua Barn 145 Transportable Home

The layout of this Barn 145 appealed hugely to our clients. They had a beautiful spot in Whangapoua which afforded amazing views from the back of their section. Having the main living area at the end of the house ensured they could take full advantage of the fabulous views and maximise the usable space on their section. The over-sized sliding doors to the east and north side of the home will provide direct access to a wrap around deck. The deck, designed by our architectural team, will also feature covered pergolas and an outdoor fireplace. A perfect spot for the family and their friends to enjoy lazy summer afternoons.

The opposite end of the house will be facing the road frontage, so we wanted to create a real feature of this elevation as well. Three well-placed aluminum louvres and cedar cladding to the exterior wall and soffits were added to the house. Once on site, a custom designed kwila deck to the recessed area and full height aluminium blades along one half of the building face, will make a distinctive architectural statement.

The home has 3 bedrooms, large kitchen with separate scullery, a bathroom, an ensuite, a second separate toilet and laundry. The main, open plan living area features a pitched ceiling which adds loftiness to this already spacious room. So really the perfect sized house in a prime location for the family to enjoy all that the coastal surrounds have to offer.
